Welcome to New Germany, MN
Welcome to the City of New Germany, a small
rural community of about 425 people, located in the
western corner of Carver County. New Germany is
part of the 110 school district.
New Germany’s Fire Department is 118 years old;
it was formed in 1901. Every year in August the Fire
Department hosts an annual softball tournament
for area fi re departments. This is a fun-fi lled family
event for all. Teams from Hennepin, Wright, Scott,
McLeod and Carver counties enter this event. The
Fire Department is always looking for new members,
men or women. If interested please contact the city
office for more information.
In the City of New Germany, we have many
beautiful parks. We have the baseball and softball
parks along with horseshoes, Gazebo Park, and
Tower Park. Many of the parks have playgrounds.
New Germany also has the Commercial Club,
which is a great group of people that hosts many
events in the City, including National Night Out,
Easter Egg Hunt, Kids Halloween Party, Breakfast with
Santa, and many events at the City Park. This group
is always looking for new members, if interested
please call city office.
The Dakota Rail Regional Trail also runs through
the great City of New Germany. There is a trail head
located in New Germany, the trail runs from Lester
Prairie to Wayzata. This is a beautiful countryside trail
to walk or ride bike on. Every day you see people
and or children utilizing this family-friendly trail.
The city council meets the fi rst and third Tuesday
of each month at 7 pm in the city hall. More
information can be found on the city website at
www.cityofnewgermany.com, or email the city at

Germany you will want to make this your home.
